Shopify + Ybug, set up for you

Shopify Ybug Integration, Built, Tested and Handed Over

A Shopify Ybug integration is a code snippet: copy the widget snippet from the Ybug dashboard and paste it above the closing head tag in theme.liquid, optionally wrapped in a Liquid condition so only admins see it. Shopify blocks scripts at checkout on standard plans. Reports can go to Jira, Linear and Slack, one integration on Basic. We install, test and hand over, from $390.

  • Widget installed and admin-only option set
  • Bug and feedback routing to Jira, Linear or Slack
  • Checkout limits explained

Who this is for

Who Hires Us for Shopify Ybug Integration

Teams testing a store before launch want visual bug reports from reviewers. These are the cases we build for.

You are a good fit if
  • Your orders come through Shopify
  • Ybug is, or will be, in your toolset
  • You would rather pay once than by the hour
  • You can review a test run with us
  • Teams testing a new store

Reviewers report bugs on the page.

  • Teams editing the theme

The snippet goes above the head tag.

  • Teams hiding the widget

A Liquid condition limits it to admins.

  • Teams routing reports

Jira, Linear and Slack receive them.

  • Teams testing checkout

    Standard plans block third-party scripts.

  • Teams on Basic

    One integration per project.

Problems solved

Shopify Ybug Integration: Six Faults We Fix First

Bug-report widgets fail on placement and visibility. These are the six faults we fix.

The problem

Snippet in the wrong place

The outcome

The widget never loads. We paste above the head tag.

The problem

Widget shown to customers

The outcome

Buyers see test tools. We limit to admins.

The problem

Checkout untested

The outcome

Bugs are missed. We explain the limit.

The problem

Reports go nowhere

The outcome

Developers see nothing. We route them.

The problem

Integration cap hit

The outcome

Only one is allowed on Basic. We plan it.

The problem

No handover

The outcome

Setup is unwritten, so the next change starts from guesswork. We write down the triggers, fields and tests.

How Shopify Ybug Integration Moves Data Between Shopify and Ybug

Think of the build as a short chain: event, check, write, log. Each link is tested on its own and again as a whole, with real orders, before we ask you to approve anything.

Six Stages From Brief to Live Ybug Sync

A fixed order of work keeps the project predictable. You know what happens next at every point.

  1. 1

    Brief and scope

We start with questions: what you sell, how Ybug fits your day and which events matter. Reading through your orders and repositories shows where the flow begins and what it must never touch.

  2. 2

    Access and connection

Access is narrow and approved by you, using a personal access token or app installation. A live read proves the connection works before any build begins.

  3. 3

    Map and rule

Order id, error message, timestamp and environment are matched across both tools, and we record who wins each conflict and how blanks are treated.

  4. 4

    Build in a copy

A copy comes first: test data only, a visible plan and, where helpful, a recorded run.

  5. 5

    Test on real cases

Cases tested: a failed webhook, a theme publish and a payment error, plus refunds and edits. Every result is compared with Shopify's own figures.

  6. 6

    Go live and hand over

After your approval we turn the flow on, follow the first live runs, then hand over notes, a diagram and a short recorded tour.

Six Safeguards Built Into Every Ybug Integration

Integrations move customer data between systems, so mistakes are costly. These practices come with every package and explain why a fixed fee can still be a careful one.

Failures raise a flag

A failed run alerts a named person with the order and the reason. Silence never means success.

A written definition of done

We call it complete when a failed webhook, a theme publish and a payment error work as agreed and the log proves it.

Secrets kept in a vault

A secure vault holds every key and token; none appear in notes or chat.

Narrow access, in your name

We ask for the least access that works, through a personal access token or app installation, and every account stays under your ownership.

Build in a copy, never live

The flow is built and tested against test data. Your live orders and repositories are untouched until you approve.

Plain scope, two revision rounds

You know the cost up front. Two revision rounds cover changes within scope, which keeps tweaks from becoming extra invoices.

Interactive price calculator

Price Your Shopify Ybug Integration

Pick a package, answer three short questions and add any extras. Your total and delivery window update as you click, with nothing hidden until checkout.

Choose your packageRequired

Each package reaches further into Ybug. Every option below shows its own price and any extra days, so nothing is revealed after checkout.

The essentials: Ybug connected, one flow built to open an issue with the order details, tested end to end.

  • Ybug authorised through a personal access token or app installation
  • One trigger built: when an order fails to sync
  • Order id, error message and timestamp matched across both tools
  • Retries can never create a second record
  • Proven on a failed webhook and a theme publish
  • A log of the tests and a short recorded tour

Ybug will open an issue with the order details, start a deployment check and alert the developer on call, with filters, retries and a failure alert.

  • Everything in Single Workflow
  • Events handled: an order fails to sync; a theme change is published; a checkout error appears
  • Environment plus custom fields matched
  • Filtering on tags, countries and totals
  • Failed runs retried, then reported
  • Test on a failed webhook, a theme publish and a payment error

Two-way sync, history load and a fortnight of monitoring, with a written runbook for your team.

  • Everything in Core Workflows
  • Two-way updates with per-field winners
  • A one-off catch-up of earlier repositories
  • Two weeks of monitoring after go-live
  • Review of access and roles
  • Team runbook in plain English

Projects beyond these packages, such as bespoke objects, heavy history loads, multi-store designs or a custom API build, are scoped and quoted at a fixed price after a short call.

How busy is the store, in orders per month?Required

Volume decides how much load planning the build needs.

How should data flow between Shopify and Ybug?Required

Syncing both ways means a conflict rule for each shared field.

Is your Ybug account empty or full of data?Required

Existing records must be matched before the first sync.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Optional extrasOptional

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what you need, watch the total, switch it back off.

Why Store Design Expert

Why Hire Us to Connect Ybug and Shopify

Most of this job is clicking, and you could do it. People hire us because the unglamorous parts, ids, timing and edge cases, decide whether the connection helps or hurts.

A price you can plan around

Every package and option shows its price and extra days in the calculator. Any Ybug plan fees are billed to you by Ybug, so check its current pricing page.

4.9+ from verified clients

You can read verified client reviews on this page before paying, so past results are visible.

We live inside Shopify

Orders, refunds, edits and metafields are what we handle every day, which is a different skill from knowing Ybug's menus.

Experience since 2015

A decade and more than 450 stores later, few integration quirks are new to us.

Safety designed in

Retries, alerts, unique keys and narrow access are in every build, not offered as extras.

Notes a colleague can follow

Our handover records what moves where and which settings were chosen, so a future developer will not have to guess.

What we need to get started

Getting Started: What We Ask For

Three things get the work moving: safe access, a few answers and a decision-maker. Here is the detail.

Approve a collaborator request

Already selling? Send the store address and accept the request we raise. You stay the owner, we see only what the role permits, and you can remove us at any time.

Starting from nothing? We build first

We can assemble the store in our own Shopify Partner account, connect Ybug there, then hand the whole store over by ownership transfer. You pick a Shopify plan only at the end.

Or share a staff login

Sharing a staff login is possible. The collaborator route is safer, though: one click removes it and no password is passed around.

Your Ybug access

Create the account yourself and invite us, or ask us to create it with your email. Either way you hold the owner role, and we use a personal access token or app installation.

Sample records

Two or three representative records from each side are enough. They show us the true shape of your data.

A decision-maker

Who signs off the plan and the test? And when Ybug and Shopify disagree, which one is right? Those two answers are all we need.

Your Shopify owner password and card details never reach us. Changes are made in a copy, and we note every setting we touch.

FAQ

Questions About Ybug and Shopify Integration

Everything owners ask us before booking.

How much does Shopify Ybug integration cost?

Single Workflow costs $390, Core Workflows $790 and Full Integration $1490. Order volume, data direction, existing Ybug data and add-ons change the total, and the calculator shows it before you pay. Most projects land between about $390 and $2090, with delivery from 3 to 14 working days.

How long does the Ybug integration take?

Single Workflow takes 3 to 5 working days, Core Workflows 5 to 9 and Full Integration 8 to 14. The usual variables are how much history you want loaded and how quickly you approve the test results. The Sooner and Fastest options shorten the schedule when a launch date is fixed.

Does Ybug have a Shopify app?

No, a code snippet.

Where does the snippet go?

Above the closing head tag. If you typed "ybug shopify bug reports widget snippet theme.liquid head tag jira linear slack", the answer is the same.

Can I hide it from customers?

Yes with a Liquid condition. Searches like "shopify to ybug sync" lead to the same build.

Does it work at checkout?

No on standard plans. Another way to phrase it: "connect shopify and ybug"; this page covers that too.

Where do reports go?

Jira, Linear, Slack. Another way to phrase it: "ybug shopify zapier"; this page covers that too.

What does it cost?

Fixed price from $390 plus tool fees. You may also see it searched as "ybug shopify make.com"; the same build answers that too.

Can you set it up?

Yes. Searches like "ybug shopify n8n" lead to the same build.
