Shopify guides hub
A map of guides by stage: plan, build, launch, grow and maintain.
ReadPlain, practical writing about running and improving a Shopify store. Start with the guides below, which cover planning, building, launching and keeping a store healthy.
We write about the questions people ask before they hire anyone.
A store owner usually needs three kinds of reading: what something costs, how to choose between options, and what to check before launch. Our guides cover exactly those, and they link to the services and calculators where a topic turns into a job.
Articles are written from the work we do on Shopify. We avoid hype, state limits plainly and never print plan or app prices, because they change. Where a number comes from outside, the page says where.
New articles are added over time. The guides below are the starting points.

Longer guides are linked above. These short reads give you the core idea in a minute or two.
A clear title, a first image that shows the product well, an easy-to-find add to cart button, honest information about size, fit or compatibility, shipping and returns details, and a description that answers the questions customers ask. On mobile, the add to cart button should be visible without hunting for it.
The usual causes are large images, too many apps, unused app code left behind, heavy fonts and videos that load before they are needed. Start by testing a product page on a phone, then remove what you do not use and compress images.
Not always. Online Store 2.0 themes let you add and rearrange sections in the editor. For anything the editor cannot do, a small change in a duplicate of your theme is the safe way to go.
Map every important old address to its new equivalent and add redirects, keep the titles and descriptions that work, and check search console errors after launch.
Be specific about shipping times and costs, how long customers have to return items, who pays for return shipping, how refunds are paid and what you do with personal information. Clear policies build trust and reduce disputes. They are not a substitute for legal advice.
If you are not sure where to start, choose the goal that sounds most like yours.
