Shopify Postman API, Wired the Way Your Team Works
A Shopify Postman API setup gives you a tested workspace for calling the Admin and Storefront APIs. Community collections exist, but no official GraphQL one turned up; one author says GraphQL requests cannot be exported and warns the REST Admin API is being phased out since October 2024. GraphQL calls POST to /admin/api/{version}/graphql.json. We build a current collection, from $390.
- Environments for dev, staging and live stores
- Admin GraphQL requests with variables and tests
- Rate-limit and error handling checks
- Test log and a recorded handover

A Decade of Shopify Stores Behind Every Postman Connection We Build.
Over 450 launches since 2015 taught us what breaks and when. That is why Postman work here opens with a test plan and ends with a log you can read.

Six Reasons Owners Book Shopify Postman API
API testing saves hours when requests are organised. These are the cases we build for.
- You sell on Shopify today or soon
- You will own the Postman account
- You prefer a quote to an hourly meter
- You can approve a test within a few days
Developers calling the Admin API
GraphQL requests POST to a versioned graphql.json endpoint.
Teams managing tokens
Access tokens live in Postman environment variables, never in shared collections.
Teams using REST collections
REST Admin API deprecation since October 2024 means moving to GraphQL.
Teams importing community files
Collections may be outdated, so we verify against Shopify's reference.
Agencies with many stores
One environment per store keeps calls separate.
Teams hitting throttles
Query cost and rate limits are tested.
Shopify Postman API: Six Faults We Fix First
Postman workspaces fail on versions and secrets. These are the six faults we fix.
Outdated endpoints
Requests fail. We pin the API version.
Tokens shared in exports
Secrets leak. We use environments.
GraphQL not importable
Teams rewrite. We build native requests.
Throttled calls
Tests flake. We check cost.
Wrong store targeted
Production data changes. We label environments.
No handover
The workspace is unwritten. We document it.

The Postman Integration Checklist, Group by Group
Deliverables fall into six groups. The package table further down shows how much of each group a given price covers, so the gap between packages is easy to judge.
Connection
- Shopify access limited to what the flow needs
- Postman authorised with an API key or token kept in a secure vault
- Who-can-do-what review
- Secrets kept in a vault, not in a note
Triggers
- Triggers tested one at a time
- Event order verified
- Trigger built for when an API change is made
- Flow starts when a collection is updated
Mapping
- Extra fields mapped on request
- Environment mapped, with blanks handled
- A winner chosen for each field
- Mapping table kept in the notes
Safety
- A retry never creates a second record
- Opt-outs and consent carried across
- Every write keyed to the Shopify id
- Daily check for silent stops
Testing
- Early live runs observed
- Test on a new endpoint
- Check against a changed field
- Refund and edit scenarios covered
Handover
- Flow diagram included
- Revisions: two rounds included
- Account kept in your name
- Screen-recorded tour of the flow
Your part is access, a short brief and a ruling on conflicts. Ours is the build, the test and the handover.
What Happens When an API change is made: The Postman Flow
All connections follow the same path. The store sends an event, we check it against what Postman already holds, the right record is written and the change is logged where your technical team can see it. This map shows the pieces we connect and test before handover.
Shopify Stores We Have Built That Are Ready for Postman
We build the stores and the links behind them. These launches show the standard your Postman connection will be built on.

BabySix Stages From Brief to Live Postman Sync
We follow the same six steps on every build, which is why the price can be fixed.
- 1
Brief and scope
First we find out what you sell, how your team uses Postman and which events count. A quick look at your orders and collections tells us where to begin and what to avoid.
- 2
Access and connection
You approve narrow access to Shopify and Postman, using an API key or token kept in a secure vault. We confirm the connection with a live read before building on it.
- 3
Map and rule
Together we map collection, request, variable and environment, decide which system wins each clash and write down how blanks behave.
- 4
Build in a copy
A copy comes first: test data only, a visible plan and, where helpful, a recorded run.
- 5
Test on real cases
Cases tested: a new endpoint, a changed field and a failing test, plus refunds and edits. Every result is compared with Shopify's own figures.
- 6
Go live and hand over
On your approval the flow is switched on and monitored through its first runs, and you receive notes, a diagram and a quick video tour.
Which Route Fits: DIY, Platform, Gig or Specialist Build?
There are four common ways to connect Shopify and Postman. This table compares the checks that decide whether the data stays right, whether failures are noticed and whether you can pass the link to someone else.
| What matters | Native app or DIY | Zapier, Make or n8n | Marketplace seller | Store Design Expert |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fields mapped on purpose | Basic defaults | When you set it up | Depends on the seller | Yes |
| Duplicates blocked by a unique key | Often missed | If you add it | Rarely | Yes |
| Alerts when something breaks | No | If you add it | Seldom | Yes |
| Edge cases checked: refunds, edits | Rarely | If you test it | Varies | Yes |
| Price known before work starts | Plan fees only | Plan fees plus your time | Yes | Yes |
| A written and recorded handover | No | No | Not usually | Yes |
| Account owned by you | Yes | Yes | Check first | Yes |
| Aftercare | Help desk of the vendor | Help desk of the platform | Often none | Support window included |
Six Safeguards Built Into Every Postman Integration
Integrations move customer data between systems, so mistakes are costly. These practices come with every package and explain why a fixed fee can still be a careful one.
Build in a copy, never live
Everything is built and tested on test data, so your live orders and collections stay untouched until you approve.
A written definition of done
A flow is finished when it handles a new endpoint, a changed field and a failing test correctly and the results are logged.
Nothing sent without approval
Every customer-facing message is reviewed with you first, then switched on.
Plain scope, two revision rounds
You see the price before paying. Changes within scope go through two structured rounds, so a tweak never becomes an hourly invoice.
Failures raise a flag
A named person receives an alert, with the order and the reason, whenever a run fails.
Secrets kept in a vault
A secure vault holds every key and token; none appear in notes or chat.

Pick a package, answer three short questions and add any extras. Your total and delivery window update as you click, with nothing hidden until checkout.
Request a custom quote
If your Postman setup relies on custom code, a private API, an on-premise system or more than one store, tell us about it and we will quote it as a fixed-price project.

Why Owners Choose Our Shopify Postman API Over Doing It Alone
You are paying for judgement and for a result you can inspect, not for hours.
Experience since 2015
More than 450 Shopify stores have passed through our hands, so we have met most of the quirks that interfere with integrations.
4.9+ from verified clients
Reviews on this page come from verified Store Design Expert clients, so you can see how projects went before paying.
Notes a colleague can follow
We document what moves where and which settings we picked, so the next developer starts informed.
Tested on your real cases
Your real scenarios are the test plan: a new endpoint, a changed field and a failing test.
We live inside Shopify
Orders, refunds, edits and metafields are daily work for us. That is a different skill from knowing the menus of Postman.
A direct line to the builder
Your messages reach the builder who has your flow open, so trigger and field questions get clear answers.
Getting Started: What We Ask For
Three things get the work moving: safe access, a few answers and a decision-maker. Here is the detail.
Approve a collaborator request
Already trading? Share the store address and accept our collaborator request. You remain the owner, we see only what the role allows, and you can remove us whenever you like.
Starting from nothing? We build first
We can start in our own Partner account, set up the store and the Postman link, then transfer ownership to you. A Shopify plan is chosen at the end.
Or share a staff login
A staff login works if that is easier. We still recommend the collaborator route, since it can be revoked in one click and leaves no password in circulation.
Your Postman access
Create the account yourself and invite us, or ask us to create it with your email. Either way you hold the owner role, and we use an API key or token kept in a secure vault.
Sample records
Tell us where typical records live, or send a handful from each system. Real examples beat assumptions.
A decision-maker
Who signs off the plan and the test? And when Postman and Shopify disagree, which one is right? Those two answers are all we need.
Your Shopify owner password and card details never reach us. Changes are made in a copy, and we note every setting we touch.

Postman Integration FAQs
Straight answers on price, scope, timing and what we need from you.
How much does Shopify Postman API cost?
Single Workflow costs $390, Core Workflows $790 and Full Integration $1490. Order volume, data direction, existing Postman data and add-ons change the total, and the calculator shows it before you pay. Most projects land between about $390 and $2090, with delivery from 3 to 14 working days.
How long does the Postman integration take?
Single Workflow takes 3 to 5 working days, Core Workflows 5 to 9 and Full Integration 8 to 14. The usual variables are how much history you want loaded and how quickly you approve the test results. The Sooner and Fastest options shorten the schedule when a launch date is fixed.
Is there an official Shopify Postman collection?
We found none for GraphQL.
Where do GraphQL calls go?
To /admin/api/{version}/graphql.json. People also search for "postman graphql.json admin api shopify"; this page covers that too.
Is the REST Admin API still safe?
It has been deprecated since October 2024. Queries such as "shopify api postman" lead to the same build.
Can community collections be trusted?
Verify them against Shopify's reference. You may also see it searched as "shopify api documentation postman"; this page covers that too.
How do I manage tokens?
Use environment variables. Searches like "postman setup shopify api" point to this service.
Does Shopify teach Postman?
Its workshop covers Postman, GraphiQL and curl. The same service covers "shopify rest api postman collection".
Can you build it?
Yes. If you typed "shopify to postman sync", the answer is the same.
