Lighthouse and Shopify, connected properly

Shopify Lighthouse Integration, Set Up by Shopify Specialists

A Shopify Lighthouse integration is Shopify's Lighthouse CI GitHub Action, which audits every pull request from a dev store loaded with test products. Themes need an average performance score of 60 for the Theme Store and apps must not cut scores by more than 10 points. It needs CI pipeline access. We set up, test and hand over, from $390.

  • Workflow file added with pass scores
  • Dev store loaded with test products
  • Third-party scripts handled in config
  • Test log and a recorded handover

Who this is for

Six Kinds of Store We Build Shopify Lighthouse Integration For

Theme and app teams wanting performance regressions caught before release need Lighthouse CI wired in. These are the cases we build for.

You are a good fit if
  • You sell on Shopify today or soon
  • You will own the Lighthouse account
  • You prefer a quote to an hourly meter
  • You can approve a test within a few days
  • Theme teams guarding speed

    Every pull request is audited.

  • Teams with CI access

    The GitHub Action runs there.

  • Teams on a dev store

    Test products are loaded.

  • Teams meeting store rules

A score of 60 is the theme bar.

  • App teams

Scores cannot drop over 10 points.

  • Teams on standard setups

    CI access is needed.

Problems solved

Shopify Lighthouse Integration: Six Faults We Fix First

Performance gates fail on setup and noise. These are the six faults we fix.

The problem

Audit hits the password page

The outcome

Scores are meaningless. We use the preview URL.

The problem

Third-party scripts skew scores

The outcome

Gates flap. We exclude them in config.

The problem

Dev store has no products

The outcome

Pages are empty. We load the test CSV.

The problem

Scores vary run to run

The outcome

Builds flake. We average runs.

The problem

Thresholds too loose

The outcome

Regressions pass. We set real minimums.

The problem

No handover

The outcome

Setup is unwritten, so the next change starts from guesswork. We write down the triggers, fields and tests.

What is included

The Lighthouse Integration Checklist, Group by Group

Here is the full list, grouped by job. Lower tiers cover the first items in each group; larger ones go further.

Connection

  • Connection health check scheduled
  • Only the Shopify access the flow needs
  • Lighthouse authorised with a personal access token or app installation
  • Secrets kept in a vault, not in a note

Triggers

  • Trigger for the moment a checkout error appears
  • Tag, country and value filters
  • Every trigger proven separately
  • Trigger built for when an order fails to sync

Mapping

  • Per-field conflict rules
  • Mapping table in the handover notes
  • Order id lined up across systems
  • Error message and timestamp mapped with formats

Safety

  • You hear about failed runs
  • Retries update the record
  • Opt-outs travel with the data
  • Idempotent writes throughout

Testing

  • Refunds and edits tested
  • Check against a payment error
  • Scenario tested: a theme publish
  • Test log handed over

Handover

  • Settings documented in plain English
  • Accounts stay yours
  • Questions answered after launch
  • Short recorded walkthrough

You approve the plan and the test. We do the rest and leave you with the notes.

What Happens When an order fails to sync: The Lighthouse Flow

An integration is simplest to judge when you can see it. The picture shows the pieces we build for Lighthouse: the records on each side, the status of every link and the log a person can read.

Process and timeline

From First Call to Live Sync: Our Shopify Lighthouse Integration Process

Six stages, in order. Nothing touches live data until you have seen it work on a copy, and your calculator choices decide how long each stage takes.

  1. 1

    Brief and scope

The brief covers what you sell, how Lighthouse is used and which events should trigger work. We review some orders and repositories to decide the starting point and the limits.

  2. 2

    Access and connection

We ask for the smallest access that works, via a personal access token or app installation. A live read confirms it before we build on top of it.

  3. 3

    Map and rule

Together we map order id, error message, timestamp and environment, decide which system wins each clash and write down how blanks behave.

  4. 4

    Build in a copy

We build against test data, not your live records, and show you the plan and a recorded run where it helps.

  5. 5

    Test on real cases

We run a failed webhook, a theme publish and a payment error, then refunds and edits, and verify each outcome against what the store shows.

  6. 6

    Go live and hand over

Once you approve, we switch the flow on, watch the first runs and hand over notes, a diagram and a short recorded tour.

Six Safeguards Built Into Every Lighthouse Integration

Careful beats fast when personal data is involved. These are the habits behind every build.

Nothing sent without approval

Emails, texts and posts that reach customers are approved by you before they are enabled.

Build in a copy, never live

We never build on live data: the flow is tested on test records and your real orders and repositories wait for your approval.

Failures raise a flag

Failed runs notify a named person with the order and the cause, so silence cannot hide a problem.

Counts compared, not assumed

We check totals against the source after each load, so mismatches surface straight away.

Secrets kept in a vault

Keys and tokens live in a secure vault, not in notes, spreadsheets or chat.

A written definition of done

Done means the flow copes with a failed webhook, a theme publish and a payment error, and the results are written in the log.

Choose your packageRequired

Each package goes deeper into Lighthouse. Every option below shows its own price and any extra days, so nothing is revealed after checkout.

A single, solid flow: Lighthouse will open an issue with the order details, with mapped fields and a test.

  • Secure Lighthouse connection via a personal access token or app installation
  • Trigger for the event: an order fails to sync
  • Mapping for order id, error message and timestamp
  • Duplicate protection on every write
  • Test on a failed webhook and a theme publish
  • Test log plus a recorded walkthrough

Core flows live: Lighthouse will open an issue with the order details, start a deployment check and alert the developer on call, with filters, retries and a failure alert.

  • Everything in Single Workflow
  • Events handled: an order fails to sync; a theme change is published; a checkout error appears
  • Mapping extended to environment and custom fields
  • Filters by tag, country and value
  • Automatic retries with failure alerts
  • Tested with a failed webhook, a theme publish and a payment error

The full build: two-way sync, history, monitoring for two weeks and a runbook.

  • Everything in Core Workflows
  • Per-field conflict rules for two-way updates
  • History load of previous repositories
  • A fortnight of run checks after launch
  • A check of who can do what
  • Written runbook for your team

Projects beyond these packages, such as custom objects, heavy history loads, multi-store designs or a custom API build, are scoped and quoted at a fixed price after a short call.

How busy is the store, in orders per month?Required

Busier stores need extra queuing and a longer test.

How should data flow between Shopify and Lighthouse?Required

Syncing both ways means a conflict rule for each shared field.

Does Lighthouse already hold records we must match?Required

Existing data is matched to Shopify ids up front.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Optional extrasOptional

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what you need, watch the total, switch it back off.

Why Store Design Expert

Why Hire Us to Connect Lighthouse and Shopify

You are paying for judgement and for a result you can inspect, not for hours.

Safety designed in

Retries, alerts, unique keys and limited access come as standard in every build.

We live inside Shopify

Orders, refunds, edits and metafields are what we handle every day, which is a different skill from knowing Lighthouse's menus.

Experience since 2015

More than 450 Shopify stores have passed through our hands, so we have met most of the quirks that interfere with integrations.

4.9+ from verified clients

Every review on this page is from a verified Store Design Expert client, which lets you see how projects went first.

A price you can plan around

You see the cost and extra days for each choice in the calculator. Any Lighthouse subscription is billed by Lighthouse, so check what it charges today.

Tested on your real cases

Tests use the cases your store really sees, for example a failed webhook, a theme publish and a payment error.

What we need to get started

What We Need From You to Begin

The list is short. Most owners have everything ready in a day.

Approve a collaborator request

Already selling? Send the store address and accept the request we raise. You stay the owner, we see only what the role permits, and you can remove us at any time.

Starting from nothing? We build first

We can assemble the store in our own Shopify Partner account, connect Lighthouse there, then hand the whole store over by ownership transfer. You pick a Shopify plan only at the end.

Or share a staff login

If it is simpler, a staff login will do. We prefer the collaborator route because it is revocable in one click and no password changes hands.

Your Lighthouse access

Either create the Lighthouse account yourself and add us, or we open it with your email. You remain the owner, and we work through a personal access token or app installation.

Sample records

Send two or three typical records from each side, or tell us where to find them. Real examples show us how your data is actually shaped.

A decision-maker

Name the person who approves the plan and the test, and tell us which system should win when Lighthouse and Shopify disagree.

Your Shopify owner password and card details never reach us. Changes are made in a copy, and we note every setting we touch.

Single Workflow costs $390, Core Workflows $790 and Full Integration $1490. Order volume, data direction, existing Lighthouse data and add-ons change the total, and the calculator shows it before you pay. Most projects land between about $390 and $2090, with delivery from 3 to 14 working days.

How long does the Lighthouse integration take?

Single Workflow takes 3 to 5 working days, Core Workflows 5 to 9 and Full Integration 8 to 14. The usual variables are how much history you want loaded and how quickly you approve the test results. The Sooner and Fastest options shorten the schedule when a launch date is fixed.
