Shopify Indy Integration, Wired the Way Your Team Works

A Shopify Indy integration could not be confirmed: our research found no page on Indy and Shopify, only general advice that most accounting tools need a connector such as A2X or Synder. Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent have Shopify apps; FreeAgent's is UK VAT only. We confirm Indy's route, then build, test and hand over, from $390.

  • Indy route confirmed
  • Payouts, fees and tax recorded

Our track record

Over 450 Stores Built Since 2015. Here Is What That Means for Your Indy Link.

A decade spent in hundreds of Shopify stores pays off in small decisions: what to key each record to, when to retry, which side wins a conflict. Those decisions make a CRM integration steady and dependable.

Who this is for

Shopify Indy Integration: Who It Helps Most

Freelancers and small sellers want income from the store recorded without retyping. These are the cases we handle.

You are a good fit if
  • Your store runs on Shopify
  • You have, or will open, a Indy account
  • You want a fixed price and a written scope
  • You can share the access we ask for
  • Freelancers selling products

    Income needs recording.

  • Sellers filing taxes

Fees and tax must be separated.

  • Sellers watching payouts

    Payouts differ from sales.

  • Teams unsure of the route

    We found no Indy page.

  • Teams using A2X or Synder

They reconcile payouts, fees and tax.

  • Teams on UK VAT

FreeAgent's app only handles UK VAT.

Problems solved

Shopify Indy Integration: Six Faults We Fix First

Small-seller books fail on payouts and fees. These are the six faults we avoid.

The problem

Fees missed

The outcome

Profit looks higher. We record fees.

The problem

Payout does not match

The outcome

Books are off. We reconcile.

The problem

VAT mixed

The outcome

Returns are wrong. We separate rates.

The problem

Route guessed

The outcome

Nothing syncs. We confirm with Indy.

The problem

Refunds missed

The outcome

Income is overstated. We map them.

The problem

No handover

The outcome

Setup is unwritten, so the next change starts from guesswork. We write down the triggers, fields and tests.

What we connect and check

What Happens When a customer signs up: The Indy Flow

An integration is best judged when you can see it. The picture shows the pieces we build for Indy: the records on each side, the status of every link and the log a person can read.

Process and timeline

From First Call to Live Sync: Our Shopify Indy Integration Process

A fixed order of work keeps the project predictable. You know what happens next at every point.

  1. 1

    Brief and scope

The brief covers what you sell, how Indy is used and which events should trigger work. We review some orders and contacts to decide the starting point and the limits.

  2. 2

    Access and connection

You grant limited access to Shopify and Indy through an OAuth sign-in or an API key. Before building, we read live data to prove both connections.

  3. 3

    Map and rule

Together we map email address, order total, lead source and owner, decide which system wins each clash and write down how blanks behave.

  4. 4

    Build in a copy

The flow is built against test data, never your live records. You see the plan and, where useful, a recorded run.

  5. 5

    Test on real cases

We test a first-time buyer, a repeat customer and a refunded order, plus refunds and edits, then compare the results with what Shopify shows.

  6. 6

    Go live and hand over

On your approval the flow is switched on and monitored through its first runs, and you receive notes, a diagram and a quick video tour.

Six Safeguards Built Into Every Indy Integration

Integrations move customer data between systems, so mistakes are costly. These practices come with every package and explain why a fixed fee can still be a careful one.

Plain scope, two revision rounds

The price is visible before you pay, and in-scope changes get two structured rounds, so small tweaks never turn into hourly bills.

Narrow access, in your name

The smallest workable access, set up through an OAuth sign-in or an API key, with all accounts in your name.

Nothing sent without approval

Anything that emails, texts or posts to a customer is reviewed with you before it is switched on.

Secrets kept in a vault

Keys and tokens live in a secure vault, not in notes, spreadsheets or chat.

Build in a copy, never live

We never build on live data: the flow is tested on test records and your real orders and contacts wait for your approval.

A written definition of done

Done means the flow copes with a first-time buyer, a repeat customer and a refunded order, and the results are written in the log.

A single, solid flow: Indy will create or update the contact, with mapped fields and a test.

  • Indy connected using an OAuth sign-in or an API key
  • One trigger built: when a customer signs up
  • Field map covering email address, order total and lead source
  • Every write protected from duplicates
  • Test on a first-time buyer and a repeat customer
  • Test log plus a recorded walkthrough

The core set: Indy will create or update the contact; attach the order to the right deal; record the refund on the same record, protected by filters and retries.

  • Everything in Single Workflow
  • Triggers for when a customer signs up, when an order is paid and when an order is refunded
  • Owner plus custom fields matched
  • Rules by tag, country and order value
  • Retries, plus an alert when a run fails
  • Test on a first-time buyer, a repeat customer and a refunded order

Everything in the core package plus two-way sync, a history load and two weeks of monitoring.

  • Everything in Core Workflows
  • Two-way updates with per-field winners
  • One-off history load of past contacts
  • Two weeks of monitoring after go-live
  • Review of access and roles
  • Written runbook for your team

If your Indy setup uses custom code, a private API, an on-premise system or more than one store, send a short brief and we will quote it as a fixed-price project.

How busy is the store, in orders per month?Required

Busier stores need extra queuing and a longer test.

One-way or two-way sync?Required

Fields that both systems change need a written winner.

Are there existing records in Indy to deal with?Required

Records already there must be matched first.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Optional extrasOptional

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what you need, watch the total, switch it back off.

Request a custom quote

If your Indy setup uses custom code, a private API, an on-premise system or more than one store, send a short brief and we will quote it as a fixed-price project.

Why Store Design Expert

Why Hire Us to Connect Indy and Shopify

Most of this job is clicking, and you could do it. People hire us because the unglamorous parts, ids, timing and edge cases, decide whether the connection helps or hurts.

Notes a colleague can follow

We document what moves where and which settings we picked, so the next developer starts informed.

Safety designed in

Safety is standard: retries, alerts, unique keys and narrow access are part of each build.

Tested on your real cases

We test the cases your store actually has, such as a first-time buyer, a repeat customer and a refunded order.

Experience since 2015

A decade and more than 450 stores later, few integration quirks are new to us.

A price you can plan around

The calculator shows the price and extra days for every package and option. Indy bills its own plan fees, so check its current pricing page.

A direct line to the builder

You message the person who has your flow open. Questions about a trigger or a field get a straight answer.

What we need to get started

What We Need From You to Begin

We need a way into your store, a Indy account and a short brief. Pick the access route that suits you.

Approve a collaborator request

Already selling? Send the store address and accept the request we raise. You stay the owner, we see only what the role permits, and you can remove us at any time.

Starting from nothing? We build first

We can start in our own Partner account, set up the store and the Indy link, then transfer ownership to you. A Shopify plan is chosen at the end.

Or share a staff login

Sharing a staff login is possible. The collaborator route is safer, though: one click removes it and no password is passed around.

Your Indy access

You can create the account and invite us, or we can create it with your email. In both cases you hold the owner role, and we connect using an OAuth sign-in or an API key.

Sample records

Send two or three typical records from each side, or tell us where to find them. Real examples show us how your data is actually shaped.

A decision-maker

Tell us who approves the plan and the test, and which rule should win when Indy and Shopify disagree.

Your Shopify owner password and card details never reach us. Changes are made in a copy, and we note every setting we touch.

FAQ

Questions About Indy and Shopify Integration

Everything owners ask us before booking.

How much does Shopify Indy integration cost?

Single Workflow costs $390, Core Workflows $790 and Full Integration $1490. Order volume, data direction, existing Indy data and add-ons change the total, and the calculator shows it before you pay. Most projects land between about $390 and $2090, with delivery from 3 to 14 working days.

How long does the Indy integration take?

Single Workflow takes 3 to 5 working days, Core Workflows 5 to 9 and Full Integration 8 to 14. The usual variables are how much history you want loaded and how quickly you approve the test results. The Sooner and Fastest options shorten the schedule when a launch date is fixed.

Does Indy integrate with Shopify?

We could not confirm.

Do accounting tools connect directly?

Most do not. People also search for "indy shopify freelancer accounting income payouts fees a2x synder xero quickbooks"; this page covers that too.

What do A2X and Synder do?

Reconcile payouts and fees. Searches like "shopify et indy" lead to the same build.

Does Wave support Shopify?

Sources disagree. Searches like "shopify to indy sync" lead to the same build.

What do you check first?

Indy's integrations page. The same job is behind "connect shopify and indy".

What does it cost?

Fixed price from $390 plus tool fees. If you came here from "indy shopify zapier", you are in the right place.

Can you scope it?

Yes. Related searches such as "indy shopify make.com", the answer is the same.
