Fixed-price DeskTime integration

Shopify DeskTime Integration, Priced Up Front, Built With Care

A Shopify DeskTime integration has no native connector in our research. DeskTime connects through native integrations, its API and Zapier, and its native list covers project and calendar tools such as Trello, Asana, Jira, Google Calendar, QuickBooks and Xero, not Shopify. A custom link would likely use the API. Deskpro, Desk.com and Deskflow are different. We build, test and hand over, from $390.

  • Staff time tracked against store projects
  • Costs allocated per client or task
  • API or Zapier route confirmed
  • Test log and a recorded handover

Who this is for

Six Kinds of Store We Build Shopify DeskTime Integration For

Agencies and in-house teams running store work want time data tied to projects and costs. These are the cases we build for.

You are a good fit if
  • Your store runs on Shopify
  • You have, or will open, a DeskTime account
  • You want a fixed price and a written scope
  • You can share the access we ask for
  • Teams tracking time

    DeskTime records working hours.

  • Agencies billing clients

    Time can map to clients.

  • Teams with developers

    The API allows custom links.

  • Teams on Zapier

    A Zapier page exists.

  • Teams costing work

    QuickBooks and Xero are native.

  • Teams confusing products

    Deskpro and Deskflow differ.

Problems solved

Shopify DeskTime Integration: Six Faults We Fix First

Time links fail on mapping and privacy. These are the six faults we fix.

The problem

Native link assumed

The outcome

Nothing syncs. We confirm the route.

The problem

Tasks unmapped

The outcome

Time is misallocated. We map projects.

The problem

Over-collected data

The outcome

Staff trust falls. We limit fields.

The problem

Costs misreported

The outcome

Margins mislead. We check rates.

The problem

Duplicate entries

The outcome

Totals inflate. We dedupe.

The problem

No handover

The outcome

Setup is unwritten, so the next change starts from guesswork. We write down the triggers, fields and tests.

How We Build Your DeskTime Integration, Step by Step

A fixed order of work keeps the project predictable. You know what happens next at every point.

  1. 1

    Brief and scope

The brief covers what you sell, how DeskTime is used and which events should trigger work. We review some orders and tasks to decide the starting point and the limits.

  2. 2

    Access and connection

You approve narrow access to Shopify and DeskTime, using an OAuth sign-in with access to one workspace. We confirm the connection with a live read before building on it.

  3. 3

    Map and rule

The map covers order number, due date, assignee and notes; we put the conflict winners and blank rules in writing.

  4. 4

    Build in a copy

The flow is built against test data, never your live records. You see the plan and, where useful, a recorded run.

  5. 5

    Test on real cases

The tests cover a custom order, a refund request and a rush shipment, along with refunds and edits, and we check each result against Shopify.

  6. 6

    Go live and hand over

Once you approve, we switch the flow on, watch the first runs and hand over notes, a diagram and a short recorded tour.

How We Protect Your Orders and Customer Data

Careful beats fast when personal data is involved. These are the habits behind every build.

A written definition of done

A flow is finished when it handles a custom order, a refund request and a rush shipment correctly and the results are logged.

Nothing sent without approval

Every customer-facing message is reviewed with you first, then switched on.

Narrow access, in your name

We ask for the least access that works, through an OAuth sign-in with access to one workspace, and every account stays under your ownership.

Failures raise a flag

Failed runs notify a named person with the order and the cause, so silence cannot hide a problem.

Build in a copy, never live

Test data comes first. Live orders and tasks are left alone until you sign off.

Plain scope, two revision rounds

You see the price before paying. Changes within scope go through two structured rounds, so a tweak never becomes an hourly invoice.

One flow live between Shopify and DeskTime: create a task with the order details, mapped and tested.

  • DeskTime connected using an OAuth sign-in with access to one workspace
  • Trigger for the event: an order needs custom work
  • Order number, due date and assignee matched across both tools
  • Retries can never create a second record
  • Test on a custom order and a refund request
  • Written test log and video handover

DeskTime will create a task with the order details, move the card to the next column and open a review task for the right person, with filters, retries and a failure alert.

  • Everything in Single Workflow
  • A trigger for each: an order needs custom work, an order is fulfilled, a refund is requested
  • Notes and custom fields added to the map
  • Filters by tag, country and value
  • Failed runs retried, then reported
  • Checks on a custom order, a refund request and a rush shipment

Everything in the core package plus two-way sync, a history load and two weeks of monitoring.

  • Everything in Core Workflows
  • Two-way updates with per-field winners
  • One-off history load of past tasks
  • Fourteen days of monitoring after launch
  • Roles and permissions reviewed
  • Team runbook in plain English

If your DeskTime setup depends on custom code, a private API, an on-premise system or more than one store, send us a short brief and we will quote it as a fixed-price project.

How many orders pass through the store in a typical month?Required

Larger volumes need more careful queuing and testing.

How should data flow between Shopify and DeskTime?Required

Two-way sync needs conflict rules for every shared field.

Is there data already inside DeskTime?Required

We match what exists before anything new is written.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what you need, watch the total, switch it back off.

Why Store Design Expert

Why Owners Choose Our Shopify DeskTime Integration Over Doing It Alone

Templates cover the happy path. We cover the rest, and we put the result in writing.

We live inside Shopify

Orders, refunds, edits and metafields are what we handle every day, which is a different skill from knowing DeskTime's menus.

Notes a colleague can follow

We document what moves where and which settings we picked, so the next developer starts informed.

Tested on your real cases

Tests use the cases your store really sees, for example a custom order, a refund request and a rush shipment.

A direct line to the builder

You message the person who has your flow open. Questions about a trigger or a field get a straight answer.

A price you can plan around

Every package and option shows its price and extra days in the calculator. Any DeskTime plan fees are billed to you by DeskTime, so check its current pricing page.

Safety designed in

Retries, alerts, unique keys and limited access come as standard in every build.

What we need to get started

Getting Started: What We Ask For

Three things get the work moving: safe access, a few answers and a decision-maker. Here is the detail.

Approve a collaborator request

Already selling? Send the store address and accept the request we raise. You stay the owner, we see only what the role permits, and you can remove us at any time.

Starting from nothing? We build first

We can start in our own Partner account, set up the store and the DeskTime link, then transfer ownership to you. A Shopify plan is chosen at the end.

Or share a staff login

Sharing a staff login is possible. The collaborator route is safer, though: one click removes it and no password is passed around.

Your DeskTime access

Create the account yourself and invite us, or ask us to create it with your email. Either way you hold the owner role, and we use an OAuth sign-in with access to one workspace.

Sample records

Two or three representative records from each side are enough. They show us the true shape of your data.

A decision-maker

Who signs off the plan and the test? And when DeskTime and Shopify disagree, which one is right? Those two answers are all we need.

We never need your owner password or payment details. Access is limited, logged and removable at any time.
