A careful Stax and Shopify build

Shopify Stax Integration, That Survives Real Orders

A Shopify Stax integration was not confirmed as a first-party app. Reviews say the two can work together to list products, take card payments and ship goods, and Zapier creates Stax customers from Shopify events such as cancelled orders and draft order updates. Stax uses a flat subscription, but reviewers disagree on the break-even volume. We confirm, set up, test, from $690.

Our track record

Launched 450+ Shopify Stores Since 2015. Now We Connect Them to the Tools You Run.

A store is as useful as the systems around it. Our integration work grows out of years spent within Shopify, so we can tell what a clean order looks like long before it reaches Stax.

Who this is for

Who Hires Us for Shopify Stax Integration

Merchants weighing a subscription processor need the maths and the sync right. These are the cases we build for.

You are a good fit if
  • You sell on Shopify today or soon
  • You will own the Stax account
  • You prefer a quote to an hourly meter
  • You can approve a test within a few days
  • Merchants on Stax pricing

A flat subscription replaces percentage markup.

  • Owners comparing volume

Reviewers cite $10,000 to $20,000 monthly sales as break-even.

  • Teams syncing customers

Zapier can create Stax customers from Shopify.

  • Teams invoicing

Digital invoicing and QuickBooks need the Pro plan.

  • Teams checking support

No single official app was found.

  • Teams on old Zaps

Zapier's page is about six years old.

Problems solved

Shopify Stax Integration: Six Faults We Fix First

Processor setups fail on fit and reconciliation. These are the six faults we fix.

The problem

Wrong plan for volume

The outcome

Fees outweigh savings. We model before switching.

The problem

Payouts unmatched

The outcome

Books do not reconcile. We group by payout.

The problem

Duplicate customers

The outcome

Buyers repeat. We match first.

The problem

Refunds one-sided

The outcome

Records disagree. We map refunds.

The problem

Native app assumed

The outcome

No such app is confirmed. We verify the route.

The problem

No handover

The outcome

Setup is unwritten, so the next change starts from guesswork. We write down the triggers, fields and tests.

Process and timeline

How We Build Your Stax Integration, Step by Step

Six stages, in order. Nothing touches live data until you have seen it work on a copy, and your calculator choices decide how long each stage takes.

  1. 1

    Brief and scope

The brief covers what you sell, how Stax is used and which events should trigger work. We review some orders and payments to decide the starting point and the limits.

  2. 2

    Access and connection

You grant limited access to Shopify and Stax through an API key with restricted permissions. Before building, we read live data to prove both connections.

  3. 3

    Map and rule

Together we map charge id, order number, fee and currency, decide which system wins each clash and write down how blanks behave.

  4. 4

    Build in a copy

We build against test data, not your live records, and show you the plan and a recorded run where it helps.

  5. 5

    Test on real cases

We test a paid order, a partial refund and a payment in another currency, plus refunds and edits, then compare the results with what Shopify shows.

  6. 6

    Go live and hand over

On your approval the flow is switched on and monitored through its first runs, and you receive notes, a diagram and a quick video tour.

How We Protect Your Orders and Customer Data

None of these costs extra. They are simply how we work.

A written definition of done

A flow is finished when it handles a paid order, a partial refund and a payment in another currency correctly and the results are logged.

Secrets kept in a vault

We store tokens and keys in a vault and never paste them into documents or messages.

Narrow access, in your name

We ask for the least access that works, through an API key with restricted permissions, and every account stays under your ownership.

Failures raise a flag

A named person receives an alert, with the order and the reason, whenever a run fails.

Nothing sent without approval

No message to a customer goes live until you have read and approved it.

Plain scope, two revision rounds

You know the cost up front. Two revision rounds cover changes within scope, which keeps tweaks from becoming extra invoices.

Build Your Stax Integration Package

Choose a package, tell us about your order volume, data direction and existing Stax data, then pick a speed. The fixed price and delivery window update with each selection.

Choose your packageRequired

Each package reaches further into Stax. Every option below shows its own price and any extra days, so nothing is sprung on you after checkout.

One flow live between Shopify and Stax: match the charge to the Shopify order, mapped and tested.

  • Stax authorised through an API key with restricted permissions
  • A trigger for when an order is paid
  • Charge id, order number and fee mapped
  • A unique key on every write
  • Proven on a paid order and a partial refund
  • Test log and recorded handover

Core flows live: Stax will match the charge to the Shopify order, mirror the refund against the original charge and reconcile the payout with the orders it covers, with filters, retries and a failure alert.

  • Everything in Single Workflow
  • Triggers for when an order is paid, when a refund is issued and when a payout lands
  • Currency and custom fields mapped
  • Rules by tag, country and order value
  • Retries, plus an alert when a run fails
  • Checks on a paid order, a partial refund and a payment in another currency

The full build: two-way sync, history, monitoring for two weeks and a runbook.

  • Everything in Core Workflows
  • Both-way sync with a winner for each field
  • Past payments loaded in one pass
  • A fortnight of run checks after launch
  • Review of access and roles
  • A runbook your team can follow

Projects beyond these packages, such as bespoke objects, heavy history loads, multi-store designs or a custom API build, are scoped and quoted at a fixed price after a short call.

What is your monthly order volume?Required

Busier stores need extra queuing and a longer test.

How should data flow between Shopify and Stax?Required

Syncing both ways means a conflict rule for each shared field.

Is your Stax account empty or full of data?Required

Records already there must be matched first.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Optional extrasOptional

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what you need, watch the total, switch it back off.

Why Store Design Expert

What You Get From Us That a Template Does Not

Most of this job is clicking, and you could do it. People hire us because the unglamorous parts, ids, timing and edge cases, decide whether the connection helps or hurts.

4.9+ from verified clients

The reviews here come from verified clients of Store Design Expert, so you can judge past projects before you pay.

Tested on your real cases

Your real scenarios are the test plan: a paid order, a partial refund and a payment in another currency.

We live inside Shopify

Orders, refunds, edits and metafields are daily work for us. That is a different skill from knowing the menus of Stax.

Experience since 2015

We have launched more than 450 Shopify stores since 2015 and met most of the quirks that trip up integrations.

Notes a colleague can follow

The handover notes say what moves where and why each setting was chosen, so nobody has to guess later.

Safety designed in

Retries, alerts, unique keys and limited access come as standard in every build.

What we need to get started

Getting Started: What We Ask For

Three things get the work moving: safe access, a few answers and a decision-maker. Here is the detail.

Approve a collaborator request

Selling already? Send the address and accept a collaborator request. You keep ownership, we get a limited role, and you can revoke it at any moment.

Starting from nothing? We build first

Without a store, we build one in a Partner account with Stax connected, then transfer it to you. You pick a plan once everything works.

Or share a staff login

A staff account is an option. The collaborator route is still better, as it can be cancelled instantly and involves no shared password.

Your Stax access

Create the account yourself and invite us, or ask us to create it with your email. Either way you hold the owner role, and we use an API key with restricted permissions.

Sample records

Two or three representative records from each side are enough. They show us the true shape of your data.

A decision-maker

Name the person who approves the plan and the test, and tell us which system should win when Stax and Shopify disagree.

Your Shopify owner password and card details never reach us. Changes are made in a copy, and we note every setting we touch.

FAQ

Shopify Stax Integration FAQs

Straight answers on price, scope, timing and what we need from you.

How much does Shopify Stax integration cost?

Single Workflow costs $690, Core Workflows $1390 and Full Integration $2690. Order volume, data direction, existing Stax data and add-ons change the total, and the calculator shows it before you pay. Most projects land between about $690 and $3770, with delivery from 3 to 16 working days.

How long does the Stax integration take?

Single Workflow takes 3 to 6 working days, Core Workflows 6 to 10 and Full Integration 9 to 16. The usual variables are how much history you want loaded and how quickly you approve the test results. The Sooner and Fastest options shorten the schedule when a launch date is fixed.

Does Stax have a Shopify app?

Not confirmed. People also search for "stax shopify n8n"; the work is the same.

What does it cost?

Fixed price from $690 plus tool fees. If you came here from "stax shopify zapier", the answer is the same.
