Katana Shopify Integration, Quietly Reliable From Day One
A Katana Shopify integration connects make-to-order production with your web store: new Shopify orders reach Katana in real time, stock levels go back, and cancellations or line-item changes flow into the production schedule. The sync is mostly one-way, drafts are not synced, and edits to addresses or customisation options do not carry across. Fulfilment status syncs both ways. We configure and test, from $390.
- Native integration connected with order import rules
- Stock pushed back to Shopify
- Production changes and fulfilment status tested
- Test log and a recorded handover

Over 450 Stores Built Since 2015. Here Is What That Means for Your Katana Link.
A decade spent in hundreds of Shopify stores pays off in small decisions: what to key each record to, when to retry, who wins a conflict. Those decisions keep an inventory or stock-management system integration calm and trouble-free.

How Katana Shopify Integration Moves Data Between Shopify and Katana
An integration is simplest to judge when you can see it. The picture shows the pieces we build for Katana: the records on each side, the status of every link and the log a person can read.

Integrations sit behind the storefront, so here is the storefront we build. Picture each store below with products flowing into Katana.

SkincareHow We Build Your Katana Integration, Step by Step
We follow the same six steps on every build, which is why the price can be fixed.
- 1
Brief and scope
We ask what you sell, how Katana is used and which events matter. A short review of your orders and products shows where the flow should start and what it must never do.
- 2
Access and connection
We ask for the smallest access that works, via an API key or an OAuth sign-in. A live read confirms it before we build on top of it.
- 3
Map and rule
SKU, location, quantity and order number are matched across both tools, and we record who wins each conflict and how blanks are treated.
- 4
Build in a copy
We build against test data, not your live records, and show you the plan and a recorded run where it helps.
- 5
Test on real cases
The tests cover a made-to-order sale, a finished batch and low materials, along with refunds and edits, and we check each result against Shopify.
- 6
Go live and hand over
After your approval we turn the flow on, follow the first live runs, then hand over notes, a diagram and a short recorded tour.
Katana Native App, Automation Platform, Freelance Gig or Our Katana Shopify Integration?
There are four common ways to connect Shopify and Katana. This table compares the checks that decide whether the data stays right, whether failures are noticed and whether you can pass the link to someone else.
| What matters | Native app or DIY | Zapier, Make or n8n | Marketplace seller | Store Design Expert |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fields matched deliberately | Out-of-the-box fields | If you build it | Hit and miss | Yes |
| Duplicate protection built in | Rarely handled | If you add it | Rarely | Yes |
| Alerts when something breaks | No | Optional extra | Rarely | Yes |
| Refunds and edits included in testing | Seldom | If you test | Varies | Yes |
| You see the cost before we begin | Plan fees only | Plan fees and your time | Yes | Yes |
| Notes and a recorded walkthrough | No | No | Not usually | Yes |
| Accounts stay in your name | Yes | Yes | Varies | Yes |
| Help after go-live | Help desk of the vendor | Platform support | Depends | Support window included |
How We Protect Your Orders and Customer Data
Integrations move customer data between systems, so mistakes are costly. These practices come with every package and explain why a fixed fee can still be a careful one.
Build in a copy, never live
We never build on live data: the flow is tested on test records and your real orders and products wait for your approval.
Counts compared, not assumed
Once data is loaded, we count both sides, so missing or doubled records show up early.
Narrow access, in your name
We ask for the least access that works, through an API key or an OAuth sign-in, and every account stays under your ownership.
Nothing sent without approval
Emails, texts and posts that reach customers are approved by you before they are enabled.
Failures raise a flag
A named person receives an alert, with the order and the reason, whenever a run fails.
Secrets kept in a vault
A secure vault holds every key and token; none appear in notes or chat.

Why Hire Us to Connect Katana and Shopify
Templates cover the happy path. We cover the rest, and we put the result in writing.
Experience since 2015
We have launched more than 450 Shopify stores since 2015 and met most of the quirks that trip up integrations.
A direct line to the builder
Ask the person who built it. Questions about triggers or fields get a direct reply.
A price you can plan around
The calculator shows the price and extra days for every package and option. Katana bills its own plan fees, so check its current pricing page.
We live inside Shopify
Orders, refunds, edits and metafields are daily work for us. That is a different skill from knowing the menus of Katana.
Safety designed in
Safety is standard: retries, alerts, unique keys and narrow access are part of each build.

What We Need From You to Begin
Three things get the work moving: safe access, a few answers and a decision-maker. Here is the detail.
Approve a collaborator request
Already selling? Send the store address and accept the request we raise. You stay the owner, we see only what the role permits, and you can remove us at any time.
Starting from nothing? We build first
We can start in our own Partner account, set up the store and the Katana link, then transfer ownership to you. A Shopify plan is chosen at the end.
Or share a staff login
Sharing a staff login is possible. The collaborator route is safer, though: one click removes it and no password is passed around.
Your Katana access
You can create the account and invite us, or we can create it with your email. In both cases you hold the owner role, and we connect using an API key or an OAuth sign-in.
Sample records
Two or three representative records from each side are enough. They show us the true shape of your data.
A decision-maker
Who signs off the plan and the test? And when Katana and Shopify disagree, which one is right? Those two answers are all we need.
Your Shopify owner password and card details never reach us. Changes are made in a copy, and we note every setting we touch.
