Done-for-you Iterable and Shopify connection

Iterable Shopify Integration, Without the Copy-Paste

An Iterable Shopify integration turns store activity into cross-channel journeys. Iterable imports customer, event and product data and builds cart-abandonment, browse-abandonment and repeat-purchase flows from events such as Added Item to Cart. A support notice says installs from before May 7, 2026 get breaking changes on reinstall, so we check your version first. We set up, map events and test, from $390.

  • Shopify app connected and version checked
  • Cart, browse and purchase events verified
  • Journeys built from tracked events
  • Test log and a recorded handover

Our track record

450+ Shopify Stores Launched Since 2015. Your Iterable Connection Gets the Same Care.

A link between Iterable and your store proves its worth only when the data is right on everyday orders. Having spent a decade building stores, we know where orders, customers and products usually break an integration, and we design around it.

Who this is for

Who Our Iterable Shopify Integration Service Is For

Lifecycle journeys depend on the right events. These are the cases we build for.

You are a good fit if
  • Your orders come through Shopify
  • Iterable is, or will be, in your toolset
  • You would rather pay once than by the hour
  • You can review a test run with us
  • Stores with abandoned carts

An Added Item to Cart start node drives the reminder journey.

  • Stores with browsers who never add

Browse abandonment is a separate journey from cart abandonment.

  • Stores with older installs

Installs before May 7, 2026 face breaking updates on reinstall; we review the documentation first.

  • Teams needing catalogue data

Product data imports so messages show items and prices.

  • Teams planning repeat purchase

Purchase events feed replenishment and win-back journeys.

  • Teams building custom events

Custom tracking covers events the app does not send.

Problems solved

Iterable Shopify Integration: Six Faults We Fix First

Journey tools fail on events and versions. These are the six faults we fix.

The problem

Reinstall breaks flows

The outcome

Event names change. We review the v2 documentation first.

What we connect and check

Iterable and Shopify: How the Connection Is Wired

Each connection follows the same path. The store sends an event, we check it against what Iterable already holds, the right record is written and the change is logged where your marketing team can see it. This map shows the pieces we connect and test before handover.

How We Build Your Iterable Integration, Step by Step

We follow the same six steps on every build, which is why the price can be fixed.

  1. 1

    Brief and scope

The brief covers what you sell, how Iterable is used and which events should trigger work. We review some orders and users to decide the starting point and the limits.

  2. 2

    Access and connection

We ask for the smallest access that works, via an API key or an OAuth sign-in. A live read confirms it before we build on top of it.

  3. 3

    Map and rule

User email, event name, data fields and list are matched across both tools, and we record who wins each conflict and how blanks are treated.

  4. 4

    Build in a copy

We build against test data, not your live records, and show you the plan and a recorded run where it helps.

  5. 5

    Test on real cases

We run a new user, a purchase with two items and an abandoned cart, then refunds and edits, and verify each outcome against what the store shows.

  6. 6

    Go live and hand over

Once you approve, we switch the flow on, watch the first runs and hand over notes, a diagram and a short recorded tour.

What Keeps Your Store and Iterable Data Safe

Integrations move customer data between systems, so mistakes are costly. These practices come with every package and explain why a fixed fee can still be a careful one.

Nothing sent without approval

Every customer-facing message is reviewed with you first, then switched on.

Failures raise a flag

When a run fails, a named person is told which order and why. Silence is never taken as success.

Secrets kept in a vault

Keys and tokens live in a secure vault, not in notes, spreadsheets or chat.

Plain scope, two revision rounds

You know the cost up front. Two revision rounds cover changes within scope, which keeps tweaks from becoming extra invoices.

Counts compared, not assumed

We check totals against the source after each load, so mismatches surface straight away.

Build in a copy, never live

Everything is built and tested on test data, so your live orders and users stay untouched until you approve.

Choose your packageRequired

Choose the smallest package that covers your case. You can always add triggers or history from the extras list.

The essentials: Iterable connected, one flow built to update the user profile, tested end to end.

  • Iterable authorised through an API key or an OAuth sign-in
  • First trigger built: a customer signs up
  • Field map covering user email, event name and data fields
  • Every write protected from duplicates
  • Test on a new user and a purchase with two items
  • Written test log and video handover

Three flows running: Iterable will update the user profile; track the purchase event; and trigger the cart campaign, plus filters, retries and alerts.

  • Everything in Single Workflow
  • Triggers for when a customer signs up, when an order is paid and when a cart is abandoned
  • List and custom fields mapped
  • Filters by tag, country and value
  • Failed runs retried, then reported
  • Tested with a new user, a purchase with two items and an abandoned cart

The full build: two-way sync, history, monitoring for two weeks and a runbook.

  • Everything in Core Workflows
  • Both-way sync with a winner for each field
  • One-off history load of past users
  • Monitoring for 14 days after launch
  • Access and roles review
  • A runbook your team can follow

If your Iterable setup relies on custom code, a private API, an on-premise system or more than one store, tell us about it and we will quote it as a fixed-price project.

How many orders does the store process a month?Required

Busier stores need extra queuing and a longer test.

Should data move one way or both ways?Required

Syncing both ways means a conflict rule for each shared field.

Are there existing records in Iterable to deal with?Required

Existing records must be matched before the first sync.

How soon do you need it live?Required

Standard follows the schedule your other choices set. Pay to move up the queue and go live sooner.

Optional extrasOptional

Each one begins switched off. Turn on what you need, watch the total, switch it back off.

Why Store Design Expert

Why Hire Us to Connect Iterable and Shopify

Templates cover the happy path. We cover the rest, and we put the result in writing.

Notes a colleague can follow

The handover notes say what moves where and why each setting was chosen, so nobody has to guess later.

Safety designed in

Retries, alerts, unique keys and narrow access are in every build, not offered as extras.

Experience since 2015

A decade and more than 450 stores later, few integration quirks are new to us.

4.9+ from verified clients

You can read verified client reviews on this page before paying, so past results are visible.

We live inside Shopify

Orders, refunds, edits and metafields are daily work for us. That is a different skill from knowing the menus of Iterable.

Tested on your real cases

We check against your own cases, like a new user, a purchase with two items and an abandoned cart.

What we need to get started

What We Need From You to Begin

Three things get the work moving: safe access, a few answers and a decision-maker. Here is the detail.

Approve a collaborator request

Already trading? Share the store address and accept our collaborator request. You remain the owner, we see only what the role allows, and you can remove us whenever you like.

Starting from nothing? We build first

No store yet? We build it in our Partner account, connect Iterable there and transfer the whole store to you, so you choose a plan only at the end.

Or share a staff login

Sharing a staff login is possible. The collaborator route is safer, though: one click removes it and no password is passed around.

Your Iterable access

Create the account yourself and invite us, or ask us to create it with your email. Either way you hold the owner role, and we use an API key or an OAuth sign-in.

Sample records

Share a few typical records from both tools, or point us to them. Real examples reveal how your data is really structured.

A decision-maker

Name the person who approves the plan and the test, and tell us which system should win when Iterable and Shopify disagree.

We never need your owner password or payment details. Access is limited, logged and removable at any time.

FAQ

Questions About Iterable and Shopify Integration

Answers on cost, timing, access, data and what to do when the connection misbehaves.

How much does Iterable Shopify integration cost?

Single Workflow costs $390, Core Workflows $790 and Full Integration $1490. Order volume, data direction, existing Iterable data and add-ons change the total, and the calculator shows it before you pay. Most projects land between about $390 and $2090, with delivery from 3 to 14 working days.

How long does the Iterable integration take?

Single Workflow takes 3 to 5 working days, Core Workflows 5 to 9 and Full Integration 8 to 14. The usual variables are how much history you want loaded and how quickly you approve the test results. The Sooner and Fastest options shorten the schedule when a launch date is fixed.

Does Iterable integrate with Shopify?

Yes, with an official integration.

What does it import?

Customer, event and product data. Queries such as "iterable added item to cart shopify" lead to the same build.

How do I build a cart journey?

Start from the Added Item to Cart event. You may also see it searched as "shopify to iterable sync"; this page covers that too.

Is browse abandonment different?

Yes, it targets shoppers who browsed but did not add. If you typed "connect shopify and iterable", the answer is the same.

What changed in 2026?

Installs before May 7, 2026 get breaking updates on reinstall. You may also see it searched as "iterable shopify zapier"; the work is the same.

Are third-party event lists reliable?

Check Iterable's tracked events instead. If you typed "iterable shopify make.com", the answer is the same.

Can you set it up?

Yes. This also answers "iterable shopify n8n".
